SkinSmart Antimicrobial Eczema Therapy Review

Thank you to SkinSmart for sponsoring this post, however all opinions are 100% my own!

SkinSmart Antimicrobial Eczema Therapy Review

So.  Finally talking Eczema on here.
I used to be really insecure about talking about it, but here we are lol.

I teamed up with SkinSmart, to tell you guys about a non-steroidal product that is supposed to soothe eczema and atopic dermatitis symptoms.  It is supposed to address the root cause (Can be...A bacterial imbalance) instead of trying to remedy it on a superficial level.  It claims to calm itch, balance bacteria, and heal the skin.

Just a little insight into my history and eczema journey, I grew up with all sorts of medications; mostly topical but also oral.  As far as steroids (Ointments and creams), I've tried Cortizones, benadryl, Triamcinolone, Lidex, Clobetasol, Kenalog Spray, etc.  Just a bunch of stuff. ALL. THE. TIME.  I didn't realize how harmful they actually are.  When I would break out on my face, I would use the steroidal ointment...now I'm like...Y WOULD U DO DAT *insert face palm.

Over the years, I've tried to convert to more holistic/natural methods to relieve symptoms.  I don't use steroids anymore (WHICH IS CRAZY BECAUSE I RELIED ON THEM 4EVER). I've been steroid free for years now, and my skin has never been better.

DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A DERMATOLOGIST.
This is just based on my personal opinion/experience.

For anyone suffering with eczema, I know that it may sound ridiculous- but I PERSONALLY believe that a lot of it has to do with diet, and ALSO what you put on top.  I started seeing real, CONSISTENT results when I put away the steroids and all the medications.  I don't use completely 100% natural methods, but I do my best to be as gentle on my skin, and more conscious of what I'm putting in and on my skin.  It's hard though, because especially with little ones and also suffering with Eczema, you want relief NOW because it is so dreadful.

I like SkinSmart Antimicrobial Eczema Therapy because it is non-steroidal, and can be used on babies and kids, and on any skin including the face.  It dries like water with no residue, and it supposed to soothe angry, red and broken skin.  It aids in healing, relieves itchiness, and improves appearance.

Now.  Here is what I thought about it.  I am extremely reluctant on skin products.
I try to be as unbiased as possible.  I AM STILL TESTING THIS PRODUCT OUT but so far, it hasn't necessarily been a miracle worker for me.  I believe it helps, with the healing process but I do not believe this is a one and done deal.  The application tips say to try using the product with "no additional creams, ointments, or treatments.  Spray well and let air dry, repeat.  Do this 3-4 times a day, or as often as desired."

I personally, felt like I needed more than just this spray.  When I first sprayed it, it didn't sting or anything, it felt like it relieved it a bit but after it dried I felt like I needed to put on lotion.  I personally spray SkinSmart first, let air dry, and then apply lotion.  I have a few "Swear by" products that I put on after the spray which I believe helps.  I am going to write a full blog post on how I relieve my eczema symptoms.

I feel like this spray would be the most beneficial to children especially though, because most kids get dirt under their finger nails, and transfer bacteria when they scratch. SkinSmart Antimicrobial skin cleanser says, "Spray on the skin to flush away any dirt and debris that may be on affected skin."  I have been incorporating SkinSmart into my skin routine!

Right now this product is available in the following stores: Safeway, Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Pavilion, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Lunds/Bylerys.  Also available on Amazon depending if weather is permitting (Because the product cannot freeze).  You can also email the company at Customerservice@skinsmartantimicrobial.com and they will tell you the closest store to you.

I'm going to continue using this and I'll let you guys know.  Thanks for reading!

  1. Thank you for this review! I will definitely snag one of these up for B since his eczema is only on the tops of his hands and wrists and does so much better with products that aren’t greasy or heavy.
